Ukrainian traders prepare October supplies without taking into account Constanta due to possible sanctions

Leading operators plan deliveries for October without taking into account the port of Constanta due to possible sanctions from Ukraine.

Despite the significant role of the Romanian port in the supply structure, traders do not expect a shortage of fuel and a significant increase in prices, enkorr reports.

As one of the interlocutors told the publication, all cargoes from Constanta will definitely fall under increased control in the first two weeks of October. This applies to both sea shipments and rail deliveries. All because of the large volumes of Indian products that arrived in September – about 200 thousand tons.

One of the major traders shared on condition of anonymity that Romania asked not to impose sanctions at least in the first two weeks of October in order to sell off the large remains of Indian fuel, but the Ukrainian side refused.

It is expected that in the future the arrival of tankers in Constanta will be monitored by the relevant Ukrainian authorities.

“It currently looks like the enhanced inspection regime will be extended for another two weeks or a month if new batches of Indian fuel and other suspicious cargo arrive,” the trader said.
