USPA bonds may be issued next year


The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in 2022 plans to issue bonds of the State Enterprise “Ukranian Sea Ports Authority”.

“We are preparing a lot for the next year for the enterprises that are part of the Ministry of Infrastructure. As an example, we consider the entry into the capital markets of the Administration of the seaports of Ukraine”, said Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the Ministry is also considering the possibility of implementing a mechanism for public borrowing with the participation of the population. The minister also spoke about target bonds. According to him, these formats are in the process of discussion with the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank and the Securities Regulatory Commission.

In addition to issuing USPA bonds, the Ministry of Infrastructure will continue to issue Ukravtodor bonds too. Note that in June 2021, Ukravtodor first placed seven-year Eurobonds on the London Stock Exchange for $700 million at a rate of 6.25% per annum.

Kubrakov noted that in case of a favorable situation in international markets, the Ministry may approve the next issue of Eurobonds by Ukrzaliznytsia. In July, Ukrzaliznytsia attracted financing from the international capital market for $300 million for a period of 5 years at a rate of 7.875% per annum.
