Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine’s intentions to supply grain to Syria
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Foreign Ministry to “establish all necessary contacts with representatives of the Syrian people” and hinted at the Grain from Ukraine program.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted this in his evening video address.
“I instructed our Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work more actively to establish all necessary contacts with representatives of the Syrian people and to correct Assad’s mistakes regarding Ukraine and the whole of Europe,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President also added that Ukraine would support Syria’s food security, probably hinting at the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
“This is our moral advantage – Ukraine helps many countries ensure normal life, in particular through food security. We need this region, like any other region in the world, to be stable and peaceful,” the President shared.
Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture Vitalii Koval reported that Ukraine is ready to supply food to Syria after the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime.
