Romania will preserve the “Lanes of Solidarity” for the transit of Ukrainian grain
Romania decided not to ban the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania Petre Dea in Bucharest the other day, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
The ministers discussed the situation with the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain, which was introduced by some states neighboring Ukraine. The Romanian minister confirmed that the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products will move across the country as much as possible, and the “Lanes of Solidarity” will be preserved.
For his part, Mykola Solskyi thanked his colleague for the fact that Romania did not take a decision to ban the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
The parties agreed on the need to wait for the decision of the European Commission, and after that discuss all other issues related to the import of agricultural products from Ukraine.
It will be recalled that in April, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria introduced a temporary ban on the import of Ukrainian grain and other types of agricultural products.
In particular, Poland suspended the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products, but later resumed it from April 21.
