UDS is preparing the “Odesa” steamship for launching from the factory dock

“Dunaysudoservice” has almost completed repair work on the ship “Odesa”.

The steamship “Odesa” underwent major repairs last year together with the steamship “Cherkasy”, reports PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” in Telegram.

During the repair, the technical condition of the vessels was restored, and the hulls were protected from corrosion, which will allow the tugs to work for a long time. After the launch, the steamship is still waiting for work on centering the vololinia on the water and running tests.

“For better protection of the hull, changes were made to the project. We applied the paint scheme in several layers with the paint of a leading European manufacturer. The paint has a saturated, bright color that is not quite usual for UDS vessels,” the UDS said.

Also, the last work was completed on the motor ship “Cherkasy” – the painting of drinking tanks, the process of obtaining a sanitary certificate is ongoing. Soon, both ships will come to the line.

As previously reported by USM,the shipping industry has three such tugboats in operation, capable of pushing heavy caravans from 9 barges.
