AMPU emphasizes that representatives have confirmed significant interest in the concession of the container terminal. This can ensure sustainable development, modernization in accordance with the most modern world standards, and will also contribute to the significant expansion of the trade and logistics infrastructure of the region.
It should be noted that the concession will create new jobs, as well as opportunities for storing food and grain. The first, container and fifth terminals are planned to be transferred to the concession. The process started even before the full-scale war, but now the Ministry of Infrastructure is resuming it.
As previously reported by USM, Ukraine already has the experience of transferring port infrastructure into a concession. In 2021, the Ministry of Infrastructure and SE “AMPU” handed over the state stevedoring companies of the Kherson and Olvia seaports to private partners. The active work of these objects was prevented by the full-scale invasion of Russia.
