Almost 9,000 tons of untaxed grain were seized from exporters in Odesa Region
The Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office exposed a scheme of illegal export of grain from Ukraine without paying taxes.
According to the investigation, the organizers of the criminal scheme purchased agricultural products for cash, without being reflected in tax reporting. After that, using forged documents, without paying taxes or payments, the products were sent for export, reported the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office.
In the course of the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers searched the enterprise where agricultural products were stored, based on fictitious documents from a non-existent company.
According to the results of the search, almost 9,000 tons of corn, wheat, and barley grains were seized, with an estimated value of over 65 million UAH.
By the decision of the investigating judge, the confiscated products were seized.
Earlier, USM reported that the SBU eliminated a corruption scheme in the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in Odesa region. The participants of the scheme demanded money from exporters of agricultural products.
