International organizations support Ukraine in its decision to introduce services for seafarers on the Diya portal.

“We are steadily approaching the launch of online services related to the certification of Ukrainian sailors,” said the head of the Shipping Administration, Yevgenii Ignatenko, in an interview to the USM.

The Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, TAPAS Project/Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services, as well as the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine are also involved in this project.

“The Shipping Administration is a state institution, so this greatly affects the speed of implementation of changes, because all processes and procedures must be coordinated,” Yevgeny Ignatenko emphasized.

Also, the Administration is in constant contact with international maritime organizations, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA).

They are informed about the changes that have taken place in the procedure for certifying seafarers and support Ukraine in this direction.

As previously reported by USM, in February 2023 Ukraine announced that seamen will be able to receive certification services through “Diya”.
