Erdogan intends to extend the Grain Agreement for two years
Turkey is working to extend the Grains Agreement and is making every effort to extend its validity by two years.
Such plans were shared by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reports RBC-Ukraine.
“We continue work on the grain corridor and are working on its extension after July 17. We want an extension of at least 3 months. We are waiting for this and will make efforts to extend the validity of the agreement by 2 years,” Erdogan said.
According to him, in addition to the conversation with Zelenskyi, Erdogan plans to raise this issue in a telephone conversation with Russian President Putin.
“I want the continuation of the grain initiative. I am sure that all stakeholders understand the global responsibility of this initiative,” he added.
According to the president of Ukraine, the whole world is interested in the functioning of the grain corridor. And it is important that “the life of the grain corridor does not depend on the mood with which the president of the Russian Federation woke up.”
