The ships of the Turkish Navy will accompany the ships that will go along the “grain corridor” towards the Bosphorus, if Russia withdraws from the Grain Agreement.
Turkey has agreed to guarantee the safety of ships with Ukrainian grain that will go through the “grain corridor” in the event that the Russian Federation withdraws from the agreement.
This was повідомив announced by the Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, Denys Marchuk, at a briefing by Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Actually, we received confirmation from Turkey, in principle, that they are ready to guarantee passage through the corridor to the Bosphorus with their naval forces, which also gives rise to a certain optimistic vision of the future history with the export of Ukrainian products,” Marchuk said.
We would like to remind you that the period of validity of the Grain Agreement ends in July. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that they do not consider it possible to continue the initiative.
Meanwhile, Turkey is working to extend the Grains Agreement and is making every effort to extend its validity by two years.
Due to Russia’s threats to block the initiative, UN aid chief Martin Griffiths plans to meet in Istanbul with all parties to the Istanbul Agreements.
Previously, USM reported that Ukraine allocated UAH 20 billion to guarantee the financial security of ships transporting Ukrainian grain through the “grain corridor”.
