The UN Security Council plans to discuss the future status of the Grain Agreement
Today, July 21, the UN Security Council will consider the situation that arose in connection with Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
The request to hold the meeting was sent by Security Council members France and Ecuador, who consulted on this issue with the Ukrainian delegation, writes Ukrinform.
In particular, “The Security Council will discuss the humanitarian consequences of Russia’s interruption of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.” The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. EST (5:00 p.m. Kyiv time).
It will be recalled that on July 17, Russia announced its refusal to extend the Grain Agreement, which was concluded on July 22, 2022 in Istanbul, for 120 days.
Previously, USM reported that the International Federation of Transporters insists on the need to fully unblock the ports of Ukraine and reproaches the international community for tacitly approving Russian terrorism in the Black Sea.
