Poland calls on Ukraine to withdraw its complaint to the WTO
Poland is ready for future negotiations with Ukraine regarding grain imports, in case Ukraine withdraws its complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Poland asks Ukraine to cancel the complaint regarding the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain in the WTO. According to Polish officials, this will create a “favorable climate for further negotiations.” “Ukrinform” writes about this with reference to the Minister of Agriculture of Poland Robert Telus.
“It would be a good thing because if we want to talk and find long-term solutions, then this splinter is unnecessary. Therefore, this complaint should be withdrawn,” Telus emphasized.
Telus believes that Ukraine’s complaint to the WTO is allegedly groundless. According to the official, the Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solsky promised to discuss the issue of withdrawing the complaint with the Minister of Economy.
The Polish government official agreed with the words of his Ukrainian colleague regarding the need to reduce emotions on both sides. Thus, it will give an opportunity to constructively work out the mechanisms of export of Ukrainian grain to the markets of third countries.
We will remind, on September 28, a meeting of the Coordination Platform regarding the export of Ukrainian grain is to be held. Ukraine, 5 neighboring countries that implemented import restrictions and other interested EU countries will participate in the discussion.
