The volume of transportation of grain cargoes in the direction of the ports is increasing
Since the beginning of October, more than 790,000 tons of grain cargoes have been transported by railway, of which almost 350,000 tons — in the direction of ports.
The information was reported by representatives of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, writes Rail.insider. Since the beginning of the month, 441,000 tons of agricultural products have been sent to the western border crossings.
The positive dynamics is primarily related to the operation of the temporary Black Sea corridor for the export of goods. Thanks to this, the volume of unloading in the ports of Greater Odessa also increased. Currently, it is almost 450 cars per day. More than 2,300 wagons with grain loads are headed there. In the direction of the Danube ports, the queue is slightly shorter – almost 2,100 wagons.
At the same time, over the past week, the transfer of grain through the western border crossings has decreased by 10 wagons per day. Currently, 475 wagons of grain and cakes are transferred per day.
Difficulties persist at the Ukrainian-Romanian crossing Vadul-Siret-Dorneshti, where 1,700 wagons are headed, of which more than 600 are with grain.
