The Danish company was supplying parts for Russian ships
Denmark’s Rockwool was added to the list of international war sponsors in Ukraine. The company’s products were used during the construction and repair of ships of the Russian fleet.
“After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the company fundamentally decided to stay on the Russian market. Through intermediaries, the company’s products are sold to Russian state enterprises, in particular by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation,” the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption said in a statement.
The products of the Danish company Rockwool were used during the construction and repair of ships of the Russian Navy: the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, the Baltic Fleet, the Northern Fleet in Murmansk, as well as the Pacific Fleet.
Information on such contracts is available from 2014 to 2021. In the years since the annexation of Crimea, Rockwool has supplied insulation materials to at least 31 ships and submarines in the Russian Navy, including cruisers, destroyers, nuclear submarines, frigates, amphibious assault ships, minesweepers and reconnaissance ships.
In total, they discovered at least 52 contracts worth more than 329 million rubles between Rockwool distributors and the Russian Ministry of Defense.
