Russian tankers have been unable to deliver oil to India for a month
About five million barrels of Russian Sokol oil cannot be delivered to refineries in India.
The delivery has already been delayed for four weeks, writes Bloomberg. It is noted that there are 700,000 tons of barrels of crude oil on the tankers stuck at sea. All vessels belong to the Russian state tanker company PJSC Sovkomflot. Another tanker that cannot reach India in any way does not belong to a Russian company.
Currently, the exact reason for the tankers’ stoppage is unknown. It is possible that Russian oil cannot be delivered to India due to US sanctions. At the same time, despite the problem with the delivery of oil, Russia continues to load raw materials onto tankers.
“Another tanker belonging to Sovcomflot finished loading its cargo on December 19 and is on its way to the marine oil terminal in Vadinar. The tanker is expected to arrive there on January 5,” the publication notes.
