Forecast: the export of goods via the sea corridor may increase to 7 million tons per month

The export of goods through the Ukrainian sea corridor may increase to 7 million tons per month, compared to the forecasted 5 million tons in December.

This forecast was shared by Olena Bilan, the chief economist of the Kyiv investment bank Dragon Capital, the New York Times writes.

“The Black Sea Corridor already has significant positive effects on the Ukrainian economy and is likely to become one of the key drivers of growth next year,” said Olena Bilan.

According to her, the export of goods through the corridor could increase to 7 million tons per month, compared to the 5 million tons forecast in December, and the export of expensive goods “may be partially reoriented from blocked roads to sea ports.”
