A new head of State Hydrographic Service was appointed


The state enterprise “State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine ” was headed by Oleksandr Boyko.

On Friday, January 26, the staff of the state institution “State Hydrography” was introduced to the new head Oleksandr Boyk. This was announced by the head of the Shipping Administration, Yevhenii Ignatenko.

From 2018 to February 24, Oleksandr held managerial positions at civil enterprises. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he held the position of head of department – deputy head of management in the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The primary military specialty is ship armament, he worked his way up in the Navy fleet from group commander to second-rank ship commander. He has extensive experience in the field of maritime security, a master’s degree in military management. By civil specialty, he holds a bachelor’s degree in navigation,” said Yevhenii Ignatenko.

In his turn, Oleksandr Boyko emphasized that State hydrographic Service has a strategic importance for the maritime industry, especially during the war.

“Navigational safety at sea and inland waterways and its provision is a priority. I plan to implement the standards by which I am used to working, I believe in the team and I am sure that the tasks that will be set before the institution will be fulfilled,” Oleksandr Boyko commented.
