In Russia, a ship carrying rebar to the occupied Crimea crashed into a bridge


In Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation), a dry cargo crashed into a bridge. The ship was carrying fittings to the occupied Crimea.

In Rostov-on-Don, a dry cargo ship crashed into the abutment of a draw railway bridge, reports rosZMI with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Rostov region.

The dry cargo was towed to the pier. The ship’s hull is damaged, there is no damage to the hull. Crew members were not injured.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the Southern Transport Prosecutor’s Office and the Western Interregional Transport Investigative Department of the IC of the Russian Federation. According to preliminary data, the rudder failed in the dry cargo.

According to the publication’s source, the bulk carrier, built in 1978, was carrying fittings to the occupied Crimea.
