Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports in October caused losses of $30-40 million
Damage from the October shelling of the Ukrainian port infrastructure is estimated at $30-40 million.
Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, announced this at the Ukraine Media Center.
According to him, it is difficult to name the final assessment. In particular, due to the fact that, unfortunately, cases are added.
“Insurance companies assess damages. Especially, because of the latest intense shelling in early October. The assessment is still ongoing. But it is already obvious that it is about tens of millions of dollars. We previously estimated the extreme shelling at $30-40 million,” said Taras Vysotskyi.
The total losses of the agricultural sector since the beginning of the war are estimated at more than $10 billion, and the losses of the grain business are estimated at $500-600 million.
The deputy minister added that war risk insurance introduced by the government, as well as international private companies, will help in the current situation.
We will remind that due to the attacks on the ports of Ukraine, the prices of wheat and insurance increased.
