Car explodes in Sevastopol: Russian Black Sea Fleet captain killed


A car exploded in Sevastopol. Previously, a captain of the 1st rank of the Russian Black Sea Fleet died.

The car allegedly exploded while driving, in a stream of other cars, “Crimea Realia” reports.

The information that a Russian serviceman was in the car was also confirmed by the mayor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev. According to him, the driver of the car was evacuated and handed over to ambulance workers, but he died from his injuries.

Local Telegram channels claim that an improvised explosive device could have gone off in the car, but this information has not been officially confirmed.

Previously, the deceased was 47-year-old officer Valerii Trankovskyi, who commanded the headquarters of the 41st missile boat brigade. The unit is participating in the war in Ukraine, its ships are carrying out missile strikes with Kalibr missiles.

USM previously reported that the invaders had resolved a technical problem with loading Kalibr missiles onto Black Sea Fleet ships.
