The State Qualification Commission for Seafarers has already processed 60 thousand applications per year

The State Qualification Commission of Seafarers will work in an intensified mode until the end of the year to graduate every seafarer.

This was reported by the Shipping Administration.

“In 2024, the State Qualification Commission of Seafarers has already processed about 60,000 applications from seafarers, for comparison, in 2023 there were 22,631. On average, the team processes 200 applications for assignment of a title/confirmation of qualification every day,” the department noted.

Every second application is submitted by seafarers online via the “Diya” portal.

“The review process involves 12 experienced members of the State Qualification Commission of Seafarers, who work in the cities of Kyiv and Odesa, and despite all the circumstances created by the enemy, they do everything possible to ensure that the seafarer receives a decision as soon as possible. As a result, 81% of applications are considered positively, after which the authorized person prints a qualification document,” said Yevgeny Ignatenko, head of the Shipping Administration.

The department also reminded that it is possible to obtain the prepared qualification documents in person or through a representative at the Shipping Administration itself (Kyiv, Odesa – until 31.12.2024); or at the State Enterprise “Morrichservice” (Kyiv, Odesa, Izmail). Earlier, USM reported that Ukrainian seafarers will be able to prepare for the qualification exam free of charge.
