EU ambassadors agree on 15th package of sanctions against Russia
EU ambassadors agree on 15th sanctions package in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
On December 11, EU ambassadors agreed on a new sanctions package that adds more individuals and entities to the existing list of restrictions, the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU 2024 said in the statement.
The sanctions target organizations in Russia and third countries that contribute to Russia’s military and technological strengthening through the circumvention of export restrictions.
The adopted sanctions also restrict the activities of additional third-country vessels that work to promote policies that support Russia’s actions against Ukraine, the statement said.
The 15th sanctions package is to be approved at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on December 16.
USM previously reported that representatives of the European Union countries failed to adopt the 15th sanctions package against Russia.
Recall that the 15th package of sanctions against Russia is to ban 45 Russian tankers from entering EU ports.
