Ukraine is approaching a record in agricultural exports
By the end of the year, Ukraine plans to reach about 77 million tons in agricultural exports.
Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitalii Koval said this in a comment to Ukrinform during the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Conference “Harvest of Victory”
“Last year, we exported 67.3 million tons of grain and oilseeds. This year, we have already exported 72.7 million tons in 11 months, and by the end of the year we expect to reach about 77 million tons. So this calendar year we are observing an increase in exports,” the minister said.
According to him, Ukraine is approaching the second historical record for agricultural exports. In particular, last year, products worth $22.1 billion were exported, and this year an increase to $24.5 billion is expected.
Ukraine also exported 55% of agricultural products to the EU (last year — 60%). The minister explained this by the fact that the country is opening new and returning historical sales markets. This was made possible thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which ensure the stable functioning of the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
As previously reported by USM, the situation with grain exports at the ports has improved compared to the beginning of December.
