Ukraine plans to export over 40 million tons of grain in 2024/25 MY
According to the forecast, Ukraine expects to export grain and oilseed crops at the level of 46.9 million tons in the 2024/2025 marketing year (MY).
This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food in a comment to Ukrinform.
“As of December 2024, according to the forecast balances of demand and supply of grain and oilseed crops for the 2024/2025 MY, the volume of grain crop exports is forecast at the level of 40.3 million tons, which is 66.7% of the total supply and oilseed crops – 6.6 million tons,” the ministry said.
Thus, of grain crops, 16.2 million tons of wheat are exported, 2.9 million tons of barley, 20.5 million tons of corn, and about 0.7 million tons of other grain and leguminous crops. At the same time, 3.7 million tons of soybeans and 2.9 million tons of rapeseed are planned to be exported from oilseeds.
Almost all sunflower seeds (99.5% of the total supply) will be processed on the domestic market and will amount to 10.9 million tons. In turn, the production of sunflower oil is expected to be at the level of 4.9 million tons.
It should be noted that as of December 23, Ukraine had exported 20.52 million tons of grain and leguminous crops since the beginning of the 2024/25 MY.
As previously reported by USM, in early December it became known that almost 100 thousand tons of Nibulon products were stuck in ports, since the tax office did not approve the documents for export. Later, the Ukrainian Grain Association reported that the situation had improved.
