Ukraine, Romania and the EU agreed on further steps for the development of Danube ports

A trilateral meeting of representatives of Ukraine, Romania and the European Commission was held in the city of Galati within the framework of the “Paths of Solidarity” initiative.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

During the meeting, representatives of the countries discussed the improvement of the PRIMUS platform for data exchange, the development of shipping safety and logistics, as well as the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding.

“Danube ports have become Ukraine’s key logistics gateway to Europe. And therefore, it is important to develop and increase systemic, transparent and technological cooperation with Romanian and European partners right now,” said Alexander Semirga, head of the USPA.

The USPA emphasized that the meeting confirmed the joint readiness to strengthen transport links, which are important for Ukraine’s economic recovery and integration into the EU.
