Another fuel disaster in Russia: Yenisei covered with a 30-kilometer oil film (video)

More than 30 tons of diesel fuel spilled into the Yenisei River — Siberia is cleaning up the aftermath of another shipwreck.
More than 30 tons of diesel fuel spilled into the Russian Yenisei River, one of Siberia’s main waterways, after a shipwreck, Channel 24 reported.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 8, near the Kazachinsky District. An oil film up to 30 kilometers long formed on the water surface. According to the district administration, it will take at least 2–3 weeks to clean up the aftermath. In the meantime, locals have been advised to refrain from using river water for drinking and household purposes.
Photos from the scene, posted on social media, show the characteristic oily contamination of the water surface. There has been no federal response yet, nor has there been a public assessment of the environmental damage.
As USM wrote, an accident with an oil tanker previously occurred in the south of the Sakhalin region of the Russian Federation.
