Russia spreads fake news about Ukraine and Britain preparing sabotage in the Baltic Sea

Russian propaganda claims that Ukraine and Britain are allegedly preparing sabotage in the Baltic Sea.

This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko.

According to Kovalenko, fake information is being spread by the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin. In particular, Russian propaganda reports that “one of the scenarios involves staging a Russian torpedo attack on a US Navy ship.”

At the same time, Andriy Kovalenko denied the information of Russian propaganda. The head of the Center added that after Sweden and Finland became members of NATO, the long-term Russian strategy in the Baltic Sea has completely failed.

“Naryshkin is coming up with various nonsense and provocations in order to somehow curry favor with Putin. Only Russia can come up with some kind of sabotage in the Baltic Sea, as it has done before,” Kovalenko emphasized.

USM previously reported that NATO naval drones will patrol the Baltic Sea.
