The Verkhovna Rada did not support the “oil amendments” regarding the export of soybeans and rapeseed

The Parliament did not support Amendment No. 40 to the draft law No. 13134, which aimed to introduce 10% export duties on soybeans and rapeseed.

This was reported by the public union “All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council”.

“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support the oligarchic Amendment No. 40 to the draft law No. 13134, which aimed to limit the export of soybeans and rapeseed, artificially strengthen monopolies in the processing market and push small and medium-sized agribusiness out of the production process,” the report says.

In particular, the Council emphasized that the amendment was opaque, contradicted the principles of free competition and Ukraine’s international obligations within the framework of the Free Trade Area with the EU.

“It is particularly outrageous that this discriminatory amendment was cynically tried to “sew” into the draft law on medicines – No. 13134, which in no way concerns agrarian policy. This indicates a desire to make decisions behind the scenes, without professional discussions and without taking into account the opinion of the farming community,” the union emphasized.

As previously reported by USM, the UGA recently appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a demand to reject the proposed introduction of export restrictions on oilseed crops.
