Residents of Kherson region convicted for looting river port

Kherson City Court has sentenced four local residents who helped the invaders rob the Kherson River Port.

The verdict was published on the website of the Unified State Register of Court Decisions, the “Most” publication reports.

The investigation established that after the occupation of Kherson, the defendants cooperated with the occupation authorities and got a job at the Kherson River Port, which was seized by the Russian military. One became the port director, while the others received positions with the occupation authorities.

While managing the enterprise, the residents helped the Russian military build a pontoon ferry near the Antonivskyi Bridge. They also took 200 liters of diesel fuel from the enterprise, which was on the balance sheet of the Ukrrichflot Joint Stock Company, and stole three tugboats.

The court found all four guilty in absentia of aiding the aggressor state and sentenced each to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Previously, USM reported that the Kherson City Court sentenced the former head of the Kherson Port Maritime Security Service, Oleksandr Parkhomyuk, who collaborated with the Russians during the occupation of the city.
