Postage stamp “Corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa”” cancelled in Ukraine (photo)

On the occasion of the Day of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a new postage stamp was issued in Ukraine.
It depicts the first high-tech Ukrainian corvette in the series, said the Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
According to him, the corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” will become the most powerful combat unit and flagship of the national military fleet.
“The postage stamp depicts a modern warship and the symbols of the Hetman of the Zaporizhzhia Army. This combination symbolizes respect for the glorious history of the Navy,” the Vice Admiral emphasized during the ceremony.
We will remind you that the corvette for the Ukrainian Navy was built in Turkey. The contract for the construction of the ship was signed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with Turkish companies in December 2020.
The hull of the corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” is made of steel that was produced before the full-scale war at MMKI and Azovstal of the Metinvest Group.
