South Korean POSCO discussed launching a grain terminal in Mykolaiv


The Ministry of Economy discussed priority investment projects with business representatives of the Republic of Korea.

Minister Oleksiy Sobolev held a meeting with representatives of the POSCO International corporation, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority investment projects, as well as other areas of cooperation. In particular, the topic was the launch of a grain terminal in the Mykolaiv region and the construction of a railway depot in cooperation with Ukrzaliznytsia.

Recall that POSCO is an international trade and investment corporation headquartered in Seoul. The company’s main areas of activity: metallurgy, trade, construction, energy, information technologies, chemical industry. POSCO has repeatedly been recognized as the most competitive metallurgical company in the world.

As of 2021, in Ukraine, POSCO owned 75% of the shares of the MKHP grain terminal, located near the berth of the Mykolaiv port. The simultaneous grain storage capacity reached 142 thousand tons. “MKHP” is capable of handling vessels of the Handysize, Handymax, Panamax types (with additional loading on a barge).
