Romanian President: Constanta Port is Important in Ukraine’s Reconstruction Process

Nikusor Dan claims that logistics hubs, the port of Constanta, and the Danube help Romania’s position in the process of rebuilding Ukraine.

The President of Romania stated that the logistics hubs, the port of Constanta and the Danube are the country’s advantages in terms of involvement in the reconstruction process of Ukraine, Agerpres reports.

He also noted that the “Coalition of Will” aims to provide resources for Ukraine now so that it can resist Russian aggression, and on the other hand – to prepare the situation after the war, including reconstruction.

“The position that we have, the fact that we had certain logistics hubs through which both humanitarian aid and military equipment passed – this will help us. That is, the same hubs that operated in both Poland and Romania will be used to transport materials, for the entire reconstruction process. The port of Constanta is also important in the reconstruction process. The Danube – there is this transport route that is cheap. So, these are Romania’s advantages right after we talk about reconstruction,” said President Nikosor Dan.

The head of state also said that at a Sunday conference within the framework of the “Coalition of Will” he emphasized Romania’s interest in holding a meeting between the three states as soon as possible — the United States, Russia and Ukraine.

“It has already happened. We have President Trump who wants this, who has announced it and has already spoken with President Putin to have such meetings. It remains to be seen how serious Russia will be,” added Nikosor Dan.

The Romanian president said that he is among those who are pessimistic about Moscow’s future actions.

USM previously reported that Romania plans to expand its naval mission to protect against Russian attacks.
