Russian ship docks in Sevastopol to load Ukrainian wheat


A Russian ship entered the Sevastopol Bay to load 10,000 tons of wheat at the Avlita grain terminal.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Peacemaker Center.

The ship Sofia (IMO 9245263) under the Russian flag entered the Sevastopol Bay on August 28. According to the Defense Intelligence War&Sanctions portal, the ship regularly exports stolen Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine (the ports of Sevastopol and Berdyansk) to third countries.

For example, in May last year, Sofia left the port of Sevastopol loaded with wheat, according to the documents, the grain was registered for delivery to Bangladesh, and the schedule for the movement through the closed port of Sevastopol indicated the destination port of Kavkaz.

Also, a ship with AIS turned off during July 2024 made three calls to the closed port of Sevastopol, loaded and exported more than 18,000 tons of barley from the Crimean TOT.

This year, in January 2025, the ship entered the port of Sevastopol three times, from where it left loaded with wheat. In February and March, the ship was involved in the export of grain from the temporarily occupied port of Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region.

In addition, this year, the ship was loaded with stolen grain in Sevastopol in April and June.
