A Russian Black Sea Fleet ship collided with a tanker while fleeing from Ukrainian drones — they tried to cover up the incident

Despite the Russians’ attempts to cover up the incident, documents and diagrams confirming the accident have appeared online.
In early August, the small missile ship Vyshny Volochek (Project 21631 Buyan-M, in service since 2018) from the 41st Missile Ship and Boat Brigade was involved in a non-combat incident in the Temryut Bay of the Sea of Azov. This is reported by Defense Express.
A maneuvering diagram, photos of the damage, and a report by Captain 1st Rank Oleg Sardin describing the circumstances of the accident were posted online.

The Russian crew received an order to turn back at 03:59 on August 7 due to the detection of a group of unmanned aerial vehicles in the sky. Six minutes later, at 04:05, Vyshny Volochek crashed into the civilian tanker Nazan on its port side. The incident was described in the documents as a “ship control accident.”

According to official reports from the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 40 Ukrainian drones were allegedly destroyed over the Sea of Azov and Crimea that same night. However, an attempt was made to cover up the incident involving a warship that panicked and collided with a civilian vessel.

USM also recently reported that Russia is using tankers to launch drones over EU countries.
