In Ukraine, oil transportation by rail to seaports has increased


In September, about 58 thousand tons of oil were exported by rail to the ports of the Odesa region.

In September, almost 97 thousand tons of oil were transported by rail for export, said Valeriy Tkachov, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

The volume of oil transportation in export traffic in September reached 96.9 thousand tons. This is 33% more than in August. As for September last year, the growth was somewhat more modest – 13%.

The share of oil exported to ports in September was 60%. 40% was transported through western border crossings.

“At the same time, the rate of transportation of oilcake and meal for export decreased to 129.6 thousand tons. Compared to August, the decrease is 26%, and compared to the corresponding period last year, it is 28%,” Valeriy Tkachev noted.

Of the total volume, 59% of oilcake and meal was transported for export to sea ports. Accordingly, the share of transportation to western border crossings is 41%.
