Von der Leyen proposed monitoring the Russian “shadow fleet” with the help of a “wall of drones”

The head of the European Commission believes that the “drone wall” can be used for everything from responding to natural disasters to controlling the so-called Russian “shadow fleet”.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said this at a plenary session of the European Commission.
She emphasized that Europe should not react to Russia’s hybrid war, but also deter its aggression.
“I am talking about such pan-European flagships as Eastern Flank Watch and Drone Wall. Drone Wall is our answer to the realities of modern warfare. From responding to natural disasters to combating international organized crime. From monitoring armed migration to controlling the Russian shadow fleet,” said Ursula von der Leyen.
According to her, “something new and dangerous” is happening in the skies of Europe, and if no measures are taken, the “gray zone” will only expand.
“The two incidents could be a coincidence. But three, five, ten? These are “gray zone” campaigns against Europe,” said the head of the European Commission, commenting on the drone flights to Poland, Lithuania, Denmark and other countries.
Von der Leyen stressed that Europe can learn from Ukraine on the issue of the “anti-drone wall”.
As previously reported by USM, a tanker with Russian oil, which was detained by France, may be involved in launching drones over Denmark. We are talking about the Boracay ship, which was near Copenhagen on the evening of September 22.
