Ports of Great Odesa handled 40 million “Mykolaiv” cargo

The ports of the Odesa region have handled 150 million tons of grain, of which 40 million were previously handled by the ports of Mykolaiv.
This became known during the forum “Ukrainian South: Resilience. Restoration. Future”.
Over the two years of operation of the “grain corridor”, the Odesa ports have handled about 150 million tons of grain, about 6,000 vessels have made the move.
The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, noted that despite the shelling, the ports are trying to work in a pre-war mode.
In turn, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, clarified that 40 million tons of this volume are cargo that was previously transported through the ports of Mykolaiv.
In particular, the forum participants discussed and supported the position on the development of a state program for economic reconstruction and the formation of a new vector of development for the southern regions of Ukraine. Its goal should be to transform the South into a strong competitive region by implementing projects aimed at modernizing ports, river corridors, “green” energy, launching industrial parks and IT hubs.
As previously reported by USM, 90 million tons of grain were exported to 55 countries around the world through the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
