Despite the overall decrease in barley exports by 37%, Turkey sharply increased purchases of Ukrainian grain – more than six times.

Ukraine has exported 1.2 million tons of barley since the beginning of the 2025/26 MY. This is 46% of the projected export potential and 37% less than in the same period of the previous season, APK-Inform reports.

The main importers for the period July-November:

• China – 42% of the total volume of purchases (a decrease of 31% compared to the 2024/25 MY),

• Turkey – 20% (an increase of 6.4 times: 233 thousand tons against 36 thousand tons),

• Libya – 12% (a decrease of 37%).

Experts estimate the export potential of barley in the current MY at 2.5 million tons – an increase of 11% compared to last year. The gross grain harvest is about 5.3 million tons.
