EU ambassadors agree to expand sanctions against 43 more Russian tankers

EU ambassadors have agreed on new sanctions against Russia. They plan to add 43 more ships of the so-called “shadow fleet” to the sanctions list.
This was reported by Radio Liberty’s Europe editor Rikard Jozwiak on December 10, Radio Liberty writes.
According to him, the bloc’s diplomats agreed to add to the sanctions lists:
• nine individuals and legal entities that facilitate the activities of the so-called “shadow fleet”
• 43 ships of the “shadow fleet” (added to the black list)
• 12 people and two companies that “destabilize the EU”.
Rikard Jozwiak also reported that the sanctions will include officers of the Main Directorate of the Russian General Staff (GRU), individuals associated with the Valdai Club, and citizens of the United States, France, and the Czech Republic, who, according to the bloc, work for Russia.
It should be noted that EU ambassadors are due to formally adopt the new sanctions on Friday, December 12.
