Ukrainian ports have exported over 150 million tons of cargo since the start of the maritime corridor

Currently, the reconstruction of berths and preparation of terminal concessions are underway in the ports of the Odesa region.
The Program for Socio-Economic and Cultural Development of the Odesa Region for 2026 summarizes the activities in the ports of the region.
As noted in the document, in the first nine months of 2025, cargo handling in the seaports of the region amounted to 61.2 million tons, which is 17.4% less than in the same period in 2024. Of these:
• The share of export cargo was 51.4 million tons (76.2%), of which the majority, 29 million tons (63.2%), were grain crops;
• Import cargo increased by 42.2% and amounted to 9.3 million tons.
The authors of the Program note that the Ukrainian sea corridor has been operating stably for more than two years, ensuring the continuity of international trade and supporting food security. During this period, more than 147.5 million tons of cargo were transported through it, of which 89.3 million tons were grain.
5,789 vessels used the corridor, delivering Ukrainian products to more than 50 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
The Ministry of Development and Trade, IFC, and EBRD are preparing a concession for a container and universal terminal at the State Enterprise “ICTP “Chornomorsk”. The project involves modernizing the infrastructure and increasing transshipment to 760,000 TEU and 5 million tons of cargo annually. In September 2025, the government launched a competitive procedure for selecting investors, and the official competition is expected by the end of the year. Currently, the projects are in the final stage of preparation.
The Odesa port held a tender for the reconstruction of berth No. 7 with an expected cost of over UAH 539 million. The project involves increasing the length of the berth, deepening the water area, expanding the structural width and increasing the load on the warehouse sites. The work is scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2027.
In addition, a tender for the overhaul of berth No. 9 worth UAH 61.4 million was held. The berth has been in operation for over 60 years and has significant structural damage that limits its use. The overhaul will allow the berth to resume full-fledged operation and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026.
The document also mentions that since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, the Russians have damaged or destroyed more than 500 port infrastructure facilities and 116 civilian vessels, 157 civilians were injured. 161 facilities were damaged in the Odesa seaport.
Earlier, USM said that the Mykolaiv ports are ready to work immediately after the war, but there is a problem with personnel.
