A sanctioned Russian ship sailed from occupied Crimea to a port in Syria

A Russian-flagged vessel, which is under US sanctions, made a direct voyage from occupied Sevastopol to the Syrian port of Latakia.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Peacekeeper Center.

The Severniy Proect vessel (IMO:9202053) made a direct voyage from occupied Sevastopol to the Syrian port of Latakia.

“The vessel was loaded from January 6 to 20, 2026 at berth No. 20 of the Avlita complex,” Kateryna Yaresko reported.

The Defense Intelligence War&Sanctions portal notes that the owner of the vessel is the sanctioned Russian transport company LLC “TK Severniy Proekt”, which specializes in sea freight transportation via the Northern Sea Route, carries out year-round delivery of cargo to the ports of the Far North and the Arctic coast, ensures cargo flow to the countries of Europe and Asia, is the owner of a dry cargo fleet of unlimited navigation with a deadweight of 7-12 thousand tons, transports general, groupage, mixed and non-standard cargo, special equipment, equipment, container cargo, and has a license to transport dangerous goods of all categories.

In May 2022, the United States imposed sanctions on LLC “TK Severniy Proekt” due to the transportation of weapons for the Russian Federation by the company’s vessels, and sanctions were also applied to 15 of the company’s vessels, including Severniy Proect.

Earlier, USM reported that a bulk carrier stealing Ukrainian grain was spotted near Yalta.
