Last year, the Russians damaged 39 ships in Ukrainian ports and the Black Sea


During 2025, the Russians carried out 22 attacks on ships in the ports of the Odesa region and in the Black Sea waters, with a total of 39 ships and vessels damaged.

This was reported by the Monitoring Group of the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies, writes Blackseanews.

“In January-December 2025, the Russians carried out 22 attacks on ships in the ports of the Odesa region and in the Black Sea waters, both individually on ships and as part of attacks on port infrastructure,” the report says.

39 ships and vessels were damaged due to the Russian attacks — 30 civilian ships, 8 vessels (barges and pontoons) and one warship. In particular, injuries and fatalities were recorded among civilian crew members and port workers, as well as damage to port infrastructure.

In December, nine vessels were damaged: December (eight vessels and one vessel), in November – ten (five vessels, three barges, two pontoons); October – three (one vessel, two vessels); September – three vessels; August – five (including one military vessel); July – also five, June – 0, May – one; April – 0; March – three vessels, in January-February – no information was received.

Vessels were attacked in the Odesa International Port, the Chornomorsk International Port, the Izmail International Port, in the ports of the Danube region, in the coastal waters of the Black Sea and the Danube estuary. In November, the largest number of vessels were hit during a single attack on the Izmail port.

The means of attacks on ports throughout the year were ballistic missiles, attack drones, MBECs, and sea mines.

It should be noted that last year, 2,689 ships called at the three ports of the Odesa region involved in the operation of the sea corridor.
