The Netherlands is preparing new steps against the Russian “shadow fleet,” — Zelenskyy

This includes possible legislative changes to block and confiscate vessels transporting Russian oil in circumvention of restrictions.
The Netherlands is working on steps to make it more difficult for Russian oil tankers to operate. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Yetten, writes “European Pravda”.
According to the head of state, Russia’s ability to continue the war directly depends on oil revenues, so it is critically important for partners to restrict the movement of tankers transporting Russian oil.
“I know that the Netherlands is developing appropriate steps. Maybe these will be legislative changes. Nevertheless, we must take any steps to block and confiscate the shadow tanker fleet and oil,” Zelensky said.
The President added that Ukraine is also discussing this issue with France, other states, and the European Commission.
As a reminder, journalists recently uncovered a sanctions circumvention scheme that allowed Russia to export oil worth at least $90 billion.
Also, as USM reported, Sweden arrested a sanctioned dry cargo ship in the Baltic Sea the day before.
