Russian fuel tanker heading to Cuba changes course after US action

A tanker carrying Russian fuel to Cuba has changed course after the US banned the supply of energy from Russia.

The Sea Horse has changed course from Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago, Bloomberg reports.

The vessel is believed to be carrying about 200,000 barrels of diesel fuel from Russia. The vessel changed course on March 20 after the US cut Cuba off from trading in Russian oil.

Meanwhile, the second vessel, the Anatoly Kolodkin tanker, is currently continuing its journey across the Atlantic Ocean towards the Cuban port of Matanzas.

Recall that Russia has sent two tankers to Cuba. If one of them reaches Cuba, it will be the first energy supplies to the island in three months.
