The arrest of former Minister Solsky is connected to fraud with non-existent grain worth over UAH 62 million

The arrest of former Minister of Agricultural Policy Mykola Solskyi concerns an episode of grain fraud worth UAH 62.7 million.
This was reported by Latifundist with reference to the decision of the Khmelnytskyi City District Court dated March 28, 2026.
According to the investigation, the company Podillya-Agroproduct (part of the structure of Epicenter-K) was misled about the presence of 7 thousand tons of corn at the Volitsa-Agro elevator.
The investigation believes that the director of Volitsa-Agro, the company’s technical director and the former Minister of Agricultural Policy acted in a preliminary conspiracy, knowing that the company did not have the necessary amount of grain.
Previously, the former minister approached the first deputy director of Epicenter-K and, using his authority, assured him of the safety of the deal with Volitsa-Agro. After that, the latter signed a contract for the supply of corn for the amount of UAH 62.7 million, as well as documents on warehouse storage and transfer of 7 thousand tons of grain for this storage.
Separately, the technical director of the company allegedly issued a warehouse receipt for grain, although he reliably knew about its absence.
The director of PVKF “Podillya-Agroproduct” transferred UAH 63.7 million to the account of “Volitsa-Agro”. As a result of these actions, the companies caused property damage in particularly large amounts – UAH 62.7 million. The funds received were later transferred to the accounts of individuals and affiliated enterprises.
The ruling notes that the pre-trial investigation is at the initial stage. All circumstances in the criminal proceedings have not been established, and material evidence has not been examined.
The court indicated that the suspicion of the former minister is well-founded. The incriminating article provides for from 5 to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
USM previously reported that the former Minister of Agricultural Policy was given a preventive measure in the grain fraud case.
