Ukrzaliznytsia transported almost 2.9 million tons of grain in April

The volume of grain cargo transportation by rail for 29 days of April amounted to 2 million 868.5 thousand tons.

This was reported by Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to him, in April the average daily volume of grain loading on the railway network amounted to 87.5 thousand tons, which is 1.3% less than in March.

According to operational data, the volume of grain cargo transportation for 29 days of April amounted to 2 million 868.5 thousand tons. The indicator is 1.1% less than the corresponding period last month.

2 million 571 thousand tons of grain were transported in export traffic. Compared to March, the reduction is 1.7%.

Currently, 92% of agricultural products are exported through ports, and only 8% – through western border crossings.
