A representative of Polish farmers said that Ukrainian agricultural products are crowding them out of the market

One of the representatives of the Polish farmers’ protests called Ukraine a “huge competitor” in the markets of Western Europe.

This was stated by the representative of the Polish organization “National Farmers’ Protest” Damian Murawets, Latifundist reports.

According to him, Ukrainian agricultural products are increasingly “displacing Polish producers” from the markets of Western Europe, in particular Germany and France. He claims that Ukraine largely orients its agricultural exports to the EU market.

“It is clear that they are strongly oriented towards the EU market, since our European Union market last year, as they reported in their data, accounted for almost 50% of their exports,” Murawets said.

He called the Polish and Ukrainian agricultural sectors “huge competitors.” According to Murawets, Ukrainian farmers are displacing Polish farmers from the markets of Western Europe.

“It is enough that they are pushing us out of the German and French markets, and in general from Western Europe, where we export most of our goods. Yes, these are meat, livestock, tobacco, processed products, grain and grain products, fish. If we take it here, then, in fact, in these assortments we are simply competitors to each other, and here, of course, it will be very difficult to reconcile the expectations of both sides,” the representative of the organization added.

Recall that the European Commission believes that Hungary should lift the ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine, because it is unfounded.
