Russia attacked three ships heading to Ukraine: sailors rescued by the Ukrainian Navy

The Russians attacked three civilian ships heading to the ports of the Odesa region. One sailor was killed, eight crew members were rescued.
The details of the attack were given by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha.
“At night, Russia attacked a dry cargo ship belonging to Turkey in the Black Sea. And this happened immediately after the visit of a high-ranking Turkish official to Russia.
A vivid demonstration that Russia’s words cannot be trusted. Russia remains the main threat to the security and prosperity of the Black Sea. Russia also attacked two other ships under the flags of Palau and Belize, they were damaged, but their crews were not injured,” he wrote on the social network X.
The Navy rescued sailors from Turkey and India. As a result of a strike by an enemy UAV on the dry cargo ship VICTRESS (shipowner Turkey, flag Panama) a large-scale fire broke out. There were nine crew members on board – citizens of Egypt, Turkey and India.
“Given the difficult situation and the threat of further spread of the fire, the crews of the Ukrainian Navy boats successfully carried out a rescue operation to evacuate the crew of the dry cargo ship, unfortunately there were losses among them,” the Ukrainian Navy commented. Unfortunately, one sailor from Egypt died as a result of the attack.

“We inform all states and organizations about this brazen attack on international law and freedom of navigation. This requires a decisive and principled response from the international community and the International Maritime Organization,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs added.
We will recall that on the night of June 22, Russian drones attacked civilian ships heading to Ukrainian ports.
