USPA and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges signed a memorandum of cooperation

The document covers the development of maritime corridors, infrastructure modernization and port resilience to military and hybrid threats.
The USPA signed a memorandum of cooperation with the port of Antwerp-Bruges and the Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center within the framework of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026. This was reported by the USPA press service.
The document lays the foundation for a long-term partnership. The parties agreed to cooperate in several strategic areas: development of maritime transport corridors and logistics routes, modernization and restoration of port infrastructure, strengthening the resilience of ports to military and hybrid threats, as well as the implementation of modern approaches to management, security and environmental sustainability.
A separate area is the development of human capital. The memorandum provides for professional training and advanced training programs for Ukrainian port workers with the involvement of European experts.
“For the USPA, this is not just a memorandum of intent, but the beginning of a practical partnership with one of the most powerful port hubs in Europe. Cooperation with Belgian colleagues opens up new opportunities for the implementation of modern management solutions, advanced technologies and international experience, which are necessary for the modernization of Ukrainian ports and their further development,” said Maksym Lapai, Deputy Head of the State Enterprise “USPA”.
The port of Antwerp-Bruges is one of the largest in Europe. The partnership should contribute to the integration of the Ukrainian port industry into the European transport space, the involvement of international expertise and the implementation of joint projects to restore maritime infrastructure.
As a reminder, a year ago, Ukraine expanded cooperation with the ports of Antwerp, Trieste and Genoa.
