Freight from the Ukrainian Danube to Egypt increased by $27/t in 10 days

As of August 31, grain transportation to Egypt from Ukrainian Danube ports cost $90–95/t — $60–65/t more than from Romanian Constanta.
The cost of transporting cargo by river transport from Ukrainian ports on the Danube to Egypt has increased by about $27/t in just 10 days. This is reported by ASAP Agri.
As of August 31, freight was $90–95/t. Rates continue to grow due to extremely limited availability of vessels, high demand for transportation and worsening congestion on the Sulin Canal.
According to Taras Panasyuk, head of freight brokerage department at Atria Brokers, the rate for transporting grain to Egypt from Ukrainian Danube ports has increased by about $13/t since last Thursday. Compared to August 20, the increase is about $27/t.
For comparison, freight from Constanta to Egypt costs only about $30/t. The difference in transportation costs from Ukrainian ports on the Danube and from Constanta is $60–65/t. This highlights the growing logistical disparity for cargoes leaving the Ukrainian Danube.
As USM wrote the day before, the queue in Sulina can add about $10 per ton to the freight cost.
